If you haven’t seen the movie Amelie you should really go rent it now. Actually, just go buy it.
I had heard about it before I watched it for a college film class and heard it was cute but I absolutely fell in love with it when I watched it with wildblue.
All the saturated colors are so amazing and breathtaking and makes it seem almost like a cartoon. There are lots of other elements that make it seem like a cartoon, like inanimate objects coming to life.
Also all the characters, including Audrey Tatou are so exaggerated but still believable that they seem like cartoon characters that rely so much on exaggeration.
It is a cute little love story and I think it’s so cute that Amelie is almost more fascinated by the thought of love rather than trying it out. Even though the movie is a little crazy with all the special effects and what not, I think that fear of getting hurt that she has is something that everyone can relate to. Maybe that’s why the story works so well.
